Marching Band

All students enrolled in band participate in Marching Band. Membership is open to qualified students, grades 9-12. The Marching Band is in operation during the first semester of the school year and, generally, does not exist after UIL Marching Contest or the last football game, whichever comes last. Twirlers and Flags are auxiliary units of the Marching Band. Members of these groups follow the same regulations and schedules of the band, in addition to their own specific guidelines. To see what goes on during "off season", visit the Wind Ensemble page.

While student officers are given instructional responsibilities and are considered part of the Band Staff, the Director of Bands and the Assistant Directors are in constant supervision of all groups.

The Marching Band is a performance-based unit, so attendance at all rehearsals, performances and classes is extremely important.

The Marching Band and Flag Corps rehearse after school from 3:45-5:15 p.m. or 4:00-5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Only in the case of a Saturday game will a rehearsal be held on a Friday afternoon.

The Marching Band only prepares one marching show each year, with the exception of Playoff Game halftime shows which generally consist of pep music and very little field movement.
