Partners In Education

At Little Cypress Intermediate and throughout the Little Cypress-Mauriceville District we believe that parents and the community are integral components in the process of educating the children of our community. Our teachers are some of the best and brightest in the field and have a wealth of experience that they share with your child each day.

As you know, when a child is learning new skills or working on improving those that have been introduced, sometimes that little person needs a lot of one-on-one attention. That is when it is sometimes helpful to have a volunteer in the classroom to listen as a child reads, help with math facts, or provide a spare pair of hands.

LC-M volunteers, or Partners In Education , are moms, dads, grandparents, business people, retirees and others from the community who share the vision of providing the best possible education to children of the Little Cypress and Mauriceville areas.

The Partners In Education Program offers folks with various backgrounds the opportunity to volunteer in positions where they feel most comfortable. Some people enjoy working directly with the children; others prefer clerical tasks that help free the teachers' time to spend on more instructionally related activities.

The campus chairperson for Little Cypress Intermediate is Danielle Heil . You may call her at 670-586 if you are interested in signing up. Your willingness to help us provide the best possible education for the children of our community is appreciated by all of us in the LC-M District. If you have any questions, please call Sherry Combs at 883-2232 .

There is a Volunteer Profile that must be filled out along with a background check. These forms are available on the district homepage. under district information; community involvement.

Mission and Goals for 2007 - 2008

The LCI PTO would like take this opportunity to welcome you to the 2007-2008 school year. Our mission is to work together to provide the best possible learning environment for the children, and we are looking forward to an exciting year.

As parents ourselves, we realize how important your children are to you and that you want nothing but the best for them when it comes to their education. LCI PTO can help you achieve that! We all know that children learn more and have better lives when parents, school staff, students and the community work together. As members of each of those groups, the PTO brings us together to share thoughts and ideas about programs and activities that benefit the children individually and the school as a whole.

To provide the most service to our children, LCI PTO sponsors programs such as:

  • Cultural Events and Field Trips
  • Perfect Attendance Incentives
  • Science and Computer Equipment
  • Presidential Physical Fitness
  • And more!

Our goals for the 2007-2008 school year include:

  • To offer more activities and programs for the children
  • Adding new P.E. equipment
  • Adding new computers
  • To create more partnerships between the community and the school

We would like to extend a personal invitation to you to join us and help make a difference in the education and quality of school life for all of the children at LCI. As a PTO supporter, your involvement will help to bring us closer to achieving our goals.
Our meetings will be held the first Friday of each month from 9:00a.m. to 10:00a.m. in the Teacher's Lounge.

If we can be of assistance to you, please fell free to contact us.
