Be in the know about:

RADIOS, CD PLAYERS, CELL PHONES AND
OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICES AND GAMES

Students are not permitted to possess such items as telecommunication devices with text messaging, radios, CD players, tape recorders, camcorders, cameras, or electronic devices or games at school, during regular school hours, unless prior permission has been obtained from the principal. Without such permission, teachers will collect the item and turn it in to the principal's office. The principal will determine whether to return the item at the end of the day for the student to take home or whether the parent will be contacted to pick up the item. The use or display of cell phones during the regular school day is prohibited. The use or possession of a photo/camera phone during the regular school day or at any school sponsored activity is prohibited. If a cell phone or photo/camera phone is taken up by a school employee, a $15 administrative fee will be charged the parent if a request is made for its return. Any disciplinary action will be in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.

PAGING DEVICES

If a student is found to be in possession of a paging device while on campus during the regular school day or while in attendance at any school sponsored activity the following will occur:

1) The device will be taken up.

2) If a parent requests the return of the pager, he/she will be charged an administrative fee of $15.

STUDENT PHOTO ID'S

Each student will be provided a photo ID with a lanyard at the beginning of the year. The cost of this ID is included in the activity fee each student pays. Students must have their ID with them at all times when they are in school or at school dances. Students not having their ID's will be subject to disciplinary action. If a student loses his/her ID, a new one must be purchased at a cost of $4.00. Temporary ID's will be issued for a short period of time pending the purchase of a new ID.  Students should report to the cafeteria between 8:00 and 8:30 in the morning to purchase a new ID or get a temporary ID issued.

MAKE-UP WORK

When a student is absent from school, he/she has one day for each day he/she was absent to make up the work that was missed. For example, if he/she was absent on Monday, his/her assignment is due on Wednesday. Likewise if he/she missed Monday and Tuesday, the work would be due on Friday. A student failing to make up work within the time allotted by the teacher will receive a grade of zero for the assignment.

STUDENT PLANNERS

Each student will be issued a student planner at the beginning of the year. The activity fee that each student pays will help defray the cost of the planners as well as other items or activities. They will be used by students to keep track of assignments. Teachers and administrators will use them to issue passes to students. If a planner is lost, the student must purchase another one. Planners may be purchased from the office for $4.00.

TELEPHONE

Telephones in school offices are for use of students in emergencies only. Permission must be obtained from the principal, assistant principal, counselor or secretary to use these phones.

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES

Parents who wish to conference with their child's teacher(s) should schedule a conference by contacting the principal's secretary, Natalie Wilson at 883-2317 ext. 3070.
