What is PTA?

Formed in 1897, PTA is an organization made up of parents, teachers, and others in the community who have a special interest in children, families, and schools. By joining PTA, a member automatically becomes part of the largest child-advocacy organization in the state--over 750,000 strong across Texas.

The mission of the PTA is three-fold: To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community. To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children; and to encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.

Volunteers

Partners in Education

LC-M volunteers, or Partners In Education, are moms, dads, grandparents, business people, retirees and others from the community who share the vision of providing the best possible education to children of the Little Cypress and Mauriceville areas.

The Partners In Education Program offers folks with various backgrounds the opportunity to volunteer in positions where they feel most comfortable. Some people enjoy working directly with the children; others prefer clerical tasks that help free the teachers' time to spend on more instructionally related activities.

For more information on how to become involved in our "Partners in Excellence" program please contact Sherry Combs.
