TAKS
In 2004 the State of Texas introduced a new, more rigorous test, the Texas Assessment of Knowledge & Skills (TAKS). The TAKS tests replaced the TAAS and brought new standards, which at first glance seemed daunting, but offered challenges which we are confident our students, teachers, and staff will rise to meet. We know that advances in our rapidly changing world will create challenges for our children as they advance into higher education and the workplace. We want to ensure that the educational experiences and the curriculum that we provide for our students give them the tools they need to be successful. One way to know whether they have learned is to measure their knowledge. The TAKS is a broader, deeper, more challenging test than the TAAS and is one new measure of what our students are learning.
