If you have questions, the number of the Transportation Department is 409.670.4601. Please leave your name and message if you get voicemail, rather than a person. All of the employees are normally driving buses during pickup and drop-off times. They cannot address any issues you have if you do not leave a number where you can be reached.

9.15.17. BUS ROUTES

According to the Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD Director of Transportation, Donnie Reese, most of the District’s bus routes are passable; so, bus stops will not be needed in most instances. The lists of routes with street names, bus numbers, and approximate times for pick up are available on the District’s website, www.lcmcisd.org.  For children on streets that are impassable, a location for them to meet the bus is specified. Transportation employees will be driving the routes on Monday and Tuesday to assure that all details are worked out before they begin transporting students on Wednesday.

9.12.2017

Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD deeply regrets the losses our families have endured and looks forward to serving all with the highest quality of educational services available.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School (LCMHS) and Little Cypress Intermediate (LCI) are the only two campuses that did not hold water and incur extensive damages. Therefore, we will offer half-day classes using LCI, LCMHS, and North Orange Baptist Church (NOBC) classrooms. We greatly appreciate NOBC for making this possible.

The LCMCISD Board and Administration realizes these temporary times and changes in locations are not optimal. The Administration, other District employees, Texas Education Agency (TEA), and experts in disaster remediation have deliberated available alternatives to begin school safely and as soon as possible, while assuring that students’ educational needs are met.

Staff will return on Monday, September 18. School will begin for students on Wednesday, September 20:

Morning classes:

·  Mauriceville Elementary (MVE) Prekindergarten through 2nd grade will go to North Orange Baptist Church (NOBC), 4775 N. 16th St.,       Orange,

·  MVE 3rd through 5th graders will go to Little Cypress Intermediate (LCI), 2300 Allie Payne, Orange,

· Mauriceville Middle (MMS) and Little Cypress Junior High (LCJH) will go to Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School (LCMHS), 7327 Highway 87 North, Orange.

     Morning School hours:

·         Breakfast: 7:15-7:30 a.m.

·         Instruction: 7:30-11:45 a.m.

·         Lunch: 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m.

Afternoon classes:

·         Little Cypress Elementary (LCE) Prekindergarten through 2nd at NOBC,

·         LCE 3rd and LCI 4th and 5th graders will go to LCI,

·         9th through 12th graders will go to LCMHS.

Afternoon School hours:

·         Lunch:  11:15-11:45 a.m.,

·         Instruction: 11:45 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

School meals:

Meals will be provided free of charge to all students through September 30. Due to a lack of functioning cafeterias, the meals provided will be brown bag style. As always, students are welcome to bring their own meals.

Transportation:

Due to the changes in start and finish times, as well as the fact that many of the streets on our routes are not safely passable due to debris and household items, bus stop locations will be identified. Notification of these will be by the end of the week.

Makeup Days:

As communicated before, we have received a waiver through September 8, which means those days will not have to be made up. Other waivers have not yet been granted, but we do expect to be required to make up time. A new calendar will be developed once the decisions are made by TEA.

As mentioned earlier, this arrangement will be temporary. Returning to original campuses and schedules is dependent upon buildings being dried, cleared and cleaned by the remediation company, PAL Environmental Services, and declared safe by certified environmental hygienists.

LCMCISD deeply apologizes for the inconveniences you may endure during this time. We greatly appreciate your patience, cooperation, support, and partnership that will enable us all to move forward and enjoy a great year.
