The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Education Foundation, Inc. awarded twelve grants to LCM educators on Thursday, October 4, totaling $13,225.49. Thirty-four grant applications totaling over $66,000 were received and the Awards Committee had difficulty narrowing the field to those twelve who were selected. This year’s amount, combined with three previous years of grants, push the total given by the Foundation over the $50,000 mark. These grants are given to fund educational projects that enhance and enrich the curriculum for which school monies are not available.

The application process is competitive and each grant is reviewed by a committee who does not know the names of the applicant. The grants are examined for the number of students who will be impacted, the probable longevity of the item(s) requested, and how the request addresses the District’s Educational Goals. The following are the 2007 – 2008 LCM Education Foundation, Inc. grant recipients.
