The September, 2010 Technology Teacher of the Month
is Macey Jackson. Mrs. Jackson is a 5th
grade science and social studies teacher at Little
Cypress Intermediate School School. Mrs. Jackson is
on the Health & Safety committee and serves as a 212
student mentor. Mrs. Jackson consistently uses
resources provided by the District and other
technology tools to enhance student learning.

We are pleased to
announce our October 2010 Co-Technology Teachers of
the Month. These teachers are Jamie DeShazo and
Billy Gay Davis from LCM High School.
Terri Estes, LCM High School Principal said, “ It is
wonderful to have teachers who are willing to
embrace new technologies in order to improve
instruction. These teachers had the initiative to
take an idea and make it a reality.”
Ms. DeShazo and Ms. Davis consistently use resources
provided by the District and other technology tools
to enhance student learning. They recently used
Interwrite pads for classroom instruction, recorded
their lessons, and posted them on School Tube for
students to review. Students are provided
additional opportunities to review the
material from their classroom instruction as
needed. Congratulations to our teachers for
integrating technology into the classroom and
beyond. |

We
are pleased to announce our November, 2010
Technology Teacher of the Month, Stevie Wilson from
LCJH. Ms. Wilson teaches Pre AP 7th
grade science, 7th grade science, and
Leadership/Media Skills.
The Leadership/Media Skills class provides students
with the opportunity to record video and write copy
for the programs presented on the LCJH television
system.
Ms. Wilson recently used Skype to participate in a
video call to a class in North Carolina, where
students from each class were able to share
information, ask questions, and become “electronic
pen pals” using the District’s Gaggle accounts for
student email.
According to Keith Lindsey, LCJH Principal, “Stevie
is very student-centered and has great relationships
with her students. Stevie makes a difference in the
lives of her students, teaches them what they need
to know about science and makes them better people.” |

announce our December, 2010
Technology Teacher of the Month,
Connie Bland. Ms. Bland teaches
Pre-K students and is a
member of the
Red Ribbon
and
Site Based
committees
at LCE.
Ms. Bland
consistently
uses technology resources
provided by the
District to engage her
students. During the Technology
walkthrough process
at LCE, we had the pleasure
of viewing Ms. Bland using
her SMARTboard for
interactive lessons
with her Pre-K class.
The students were
excited about
using Technology and
participating in the lessons.
Ms. Bland was also nominated by another teacher
using the online nomination form on the Technology
web site

We are pleased to
announce our January, 2011 Technology Teacher of the
Month Ginger Bourque. Ms. Bourque is a teacher at
LCM High School and teaches in the Business/CATE
Department.
Terri Estes, LCM High
School Principal said, “Ginger is always working to
help students stay on the cutting edge of
technology. She works tirelessly to ensure that her
students have the very best instruction possible.
She also gives of her time to help provide technical
assistance at many sporting events and community
events. She is a wonderful asset to LCM High
School.”
Ms. Bourque consistently use resources provided by

student learning. Ms. Bourque’s students are
provided opportunities for communication and
collaboration in their classroom

We are pleased to
announce our February,
2011 Technology Teacher of the Month Jan Miller.
Ms. Miller is a first grade PLUS Class teacher
at Little Cypress Elementary School and serves
on the Campus activities committee. She
was nominated for the Reaud Teaching
Award in 2009 and plans to pursue her
Master’s Degree in the fall.
Kayla Casey, Little Cypress Elementary
Principal said, “I am very proud of
Jan and her use of Technology in
the classroom. She is an asset to
Little Cypress Elementary.”
Ms. Miller consistently uses resources provided by
the District as well as other tools to enhance
student learning. Ms. Miller regularly integrates
Discovery Streaming lessons as well as Distance
Learning into her classroom curriculum to share this
technology with her first grade students.
Congratulations Ms. Miller and thank you for being a

We are pleased to
announce our March, 2011 Technology Teacher of the
Month Iva Switzer. Ms. Switzer is a 3rd grade PLUS
class teacher. She is also a member of the campus
discipline/safety committee. In 2009-2010, Ms.
Switzer was elected as Mauriceville Elementary
Teacher of the Year and was a Reaud Excellence in
Education nominee.
Ms. Switzer has been a teacher for 22 years,
seventeen of them at LCM. Buffy Knight, MVE
Principal said “Iva is an excellent teacher. She
works tirelessly to get the best out of all of her
students.
Congratulations Ms. Switzer for being a technology
innovator in your classroom by using District

We are pleased to
announce our April, 2011 Technology Teacher of the
Month Brenda Jones. Ms. Jones is a 3rd grade teacher
at Little Cypress Elementary School.
Ms. Jones has taught 3rd grade for seven years, and
was a 2009-2010 Reaud Excellence in Education award
nominee. Ms. Jones loves teaching from her
Smartboard and her hobby is running.
Congratulations Ms. Jones for being a technology
