1.
Help WIN teachers develop more highly integrated lessons that
take better advantage of technology to teach concepts and promote the
use of computers as cognitive tools.
2.
Extend the benefits of the labs beyond the initial cadre of five
teachers per school.
Solutions
1. Work with subject area specialists to identify technology
applications that provide specific help for essential curriculum tasks,
including those necessary for state test (TAAS) preparation.
2. Leverage the large investment in professional development by finding
ways to support WIN teachers as campus-level experts.
3. Evaluate the impact of curriculum-focused activities on student
outcomes to identify those areas in which technology makes a difference,
and use those findings to build a case for additional hardware and
software.
4. Maximize scheduling of the existing labs so that students in each
school have the greatest possible access to the resource.
