Create a folder on your hard drive or on your desktop that will contain all the files for your web page. You are to call this folder MYWEB. Inside your folder, MYWEB, create a folder called IMAGES. You are to copy all the pictures and graphics that will be used on your site into the IMAGES folder.

Chose the software that you will use to create and maintain your website. This decision will be based on the software that is available to you.

ADVANCED TOPICS

1. Naming the web pages:

  • The first page will be the page that introduces you and your classroom. Since this is your first page and your home page you must give it the name "index". This is very important. The site won't open on the LCM web site if you give it another name!
  • All other pages should be given a name that will let you know what the main topic/subject of the page is about. It is very important to remember the exact name you give that page. When making a link, if you misspell or leave off the ending of the name you will not be able to link the pages together.
